New Kanada’s Adam Marshall delivers a stunning peak-hour track with obvious inspiration from old school Detroit techno and classik
Chicago house. “Kokane” begins as a tightly wound minimal house groove with precise, pounding percussion and heavily swung Jack. After the 3:30 mark the track gives way glistening synth chords which shine through the darkness transporting the cut into Carl Craig-ish jazz territory. On the flip, Montreal’s Ernesto Ferreyra [Mutek, Cynosure] brings a South American flavour to the remix and takes the dancefloor oddessy deep into the Chilean canyons. A late night mixing tool for the DJ’s. Lastly, we find the outro called “Moonlight Chills” on the second cut of side B. Ambient and lush, this one is for the late night Detroit highways. Mojo and the darkness along I75! A deep ending to a very personal journey.
